Meet our team
Dr Paula Moratti
Lead Veterinarian
  • BVSc

My name is Paula Moratti and I am the new lead vet at Palmerston North Pet Doctors. I completed my Veterinary Degree at Massey University, then worked in Palmerston North before venturing overseas to work and travel. My husband and I spent most of our time working in Scotland and really enjoyed all the adventures that came with it.

I have numerous hobbies including surfing, skiing, horse riding, squash and tennis. We have recently acquired a little border terrier puppy called Zoe, who keeps us on our toes, and I have a soft spot for Labrador dogs after having two of my own.

Dr Claudia Ugarte

Claudia is originally from Argentina where she gained her first degree in veterinary science. She came to New Zealand in 1989 and completed a veterinary degree at Massey University and PhD in Companion Animal Clinical Nutrition. Claudia worked in research and teaching at the Centre for Feline Nutrition at Massey University for three years before joining the team here. Her main interests are feline and canine nutrition, and internal medicine, especially in elderly pets. Claudia has three dogs and one cat at home and enjoys good wine and food, travelling and going to the gym.

Dr Jenny
Veterinarian
  • BVSc
Dr Pietre Allan
Veterinarian
  • BVSc

Before joining Pet Doctors, I worked as a companion animal veterinarian in Wellington and in Christchurch. I gained my Veterinarian degree at Massey University, graduating in 2010. I also have a degree in Plant & Microbial Science from the University of Canterbury.

I have a soft coated Wheaten Terrier called Austin who is 9 years old but is still very active and young at heart. I also have a naughty Tortie long hair cat called Flick who is very much the 'Queen Bee' of the household.

Before becoming a Veterinarian I worked in Australia and the UK in corporate banking and was most relieved to trade in wearing a 'suit' for a set of 'scrubs'! I enjoy the outdoors and love tramping, skiing and mountain biking.
